Dorothy Louise is a personal style service, inspired by my grandmother, Dorothy Louise, who was always dressed impeccably on a tiny budget. She handed down Lessons in Style to future generations of my family, including use of color, fit, and proportion; as well as how to build a wardrobe, when to splurge, and how to look fabulous on every occasion.

Style is not always intuitive, but it can be learned. And as we become wealthier and worldlier, we face an increasing array of clothing options and less time to narrow them down. This leaves us with a non-cohesive, dysfunctional wardrobe, and a feeling that more is less. By working together, Dorothy Louise can develop a style that works for you, which in turn helps you to put together looks quickly and confidently, without the fear of making a mistake or spending more than you should.

There are three key services Dorothy Louise offers, each consisting of the following Lessons in Style:

The Wardrobe Lesson. This is a critical exercise in analyzing what you already have in your closet, finding gaps that are holding you back from getting more out of your wardrobe, and organizing your closet so that you can quickly access great pieces that you already own. Afterwards, you will receive a customized Needs List that will help you address any gaps or issues the next time you shop.

The Shopping Lesson. This is a continuation of your Lessons in Style through a real shopping excursion � except you are armed with your own personal stylist! As we shop, you will learn which styles, fit, and colors look fabulous on you, as well as how to save and when to splurge. At the end of the day, you will have pieces that add flexiblity, balance, and style to your wardrobe.

The Style Lesson. This is a follow-up consultation in which we will recap what we have learned and discuss additional ideas that you can use for your next shopping excursion � whether we are together or not! This consultation includes a customized Look Book + Style File, which memorializes the new looks that we create for you during The Wardrobe Lesson and The Shopping Lesson. One flip through helps you dress on the go, whether you are headed to work, a special event, or a casual day out with your children.
